Dan Young Honda Sign - Landscaping
Dear Mr. Kotterman:
Keith Baughman asked me to send you a note after I had a chance to look at the drawing for the landscaping proposed
surrounding the Dan Young Honda ground sign.
The proposed landscaping appears to meet the ordinance which requires the landscaped area to be equal to the total sigh
area. The speices are acceptable, though you may have trouble maintaining the blue rug junipers, they are low growing
and very suseptable to two different fungal diseases found in this area. 2.

Dear Charlie:
Our office has reviewed the Developmental Standards Variance petitions filed by yourself
on behalf of Dan Young Motors. The following are comments that need to be addressed:
Application:
· Legal Descriptions provided do not match the property lines illustrated on the site plans,
nor do they match the most recent information available to the Department through the
County (see Exhibit A). As you are aware, the Board of Zoning Appeals conditioned
approval of Docket Nos. SU-14-87 & SUA-82-88 on the reorienting of the property line.
The Board reiterated this requirement as part of the approval of Docket No. SUA-37-01.
Until this requirement has been met, the Department cannot issue further Docket Nos. for
petitions on this property.
· The Owner's Consent form has not been signed.
Plans:
· Site 1 will require a Developmental Standards Variance of Section 25.7.02-7(b) to allow
five (5) identification signs. It will also require either three (3) or five (5) Developmental
Standards Variances of Section 27.7.02-7(c): Maximum Sign Area. Until accurate
information is submitted regarding the size and configuration of the parcels, it will be
impossible to determine which.
· Both Site 1 and Site 2 will require Developmental Standards Variances of Section 25.7.02-
7(d): Maximum Height of Ground Sign.
· Please submit detailed Landscape Plans for the proposed ground signs. Provide two
