At the meeting held September 4, 2001, the Special Study Committee of the Carmel/Clay
Plan Commission took the following action regarding the Architectmal Design, Lighting,
Landscaping & Signage Amendment petition filed by yourself for property located at 201
Pennsylvania Parkway:
APPROVED: Docket No. 103-01 AI>LS Amend, a petition under Section 23B.2(F)(4) of Chapter
23B: US 31/Meridian Street Overlay Zone in order to amend the Sign Plan approved for a Multi-
tenant, Multi-level Building (Meridian Medical Plaza North) under Docket No. 68-94 AI>LS. The
Committee voted four (4) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby granting the petition for the revised
design presented the night of the meeting.
A Developmental Standards Variance petition of Section 25. 7.02-10(b): Number & Type
will need to be filed in order to allow four (4) identification signs to be oriented toward the south
frontage of the building. An additional Developmental Standards Variance petition of Section
25. 7.02-10(b): Number & Type will need to be filed in order to allow four (4) identification signs
to be mounted on the south fayade. The next filing deadline for the Board of Zoning Appeals is
Friday, October 12,2001, for a Monday, November 26, 2001, hearing date. Until such time as
the Board of Zoning Appeals has heard and approved these petitions, permits for this sign cannot
be issued.

Petitioner seeks Architectural Design, Lighting, Landscaping & Signage Amendment approval for one building
sign. The site is zoned B-6 and is within the US 31 Overlay. The site is located in the 100 Block of
Pennsylvania Parkway.

The petition will be placed on the September 4,2001 Special Studies Committee agenda. We will need 10
information packets in our office no later than August, 24, 2001 to be mailed out to Commission members with
the Special Studies Committee Agenda. The amount of information submitted with the application is adequate
for distribution to committee members.
In addition to the ADLS Amendment this sign will require variance approval by the Board of Zoning Appeals.
The variance is necessary to pennit an additional sign on the south face of the building. The next available
hearing date for the Board is October 22 with a filing deadline of September 7th.
