This item first appeared at Plan Commission on December 18 2007 Since then the project has gone
through architectural design the petitioner has concluded that the building is going to be difficult to build
due to the cantilever roof and design of the building Architectural differences were explained the required
columns to the exterior made it difficult to design for tenant space in the interior
Shawn Curran Curran Architects displayed renderings of the re designed building The building has the
same glass features on the south and west with a small sign band in the middle The building height is the
same as before awnings have been added
Department Report Christine Barton Hohnes The re design requires No variance essentially the same
except changing out the cantilever roof for new design The only concern is articulating the cornice a little
more making it heavier The depth of the cornice is 2 feet 4 inchesnot just a flat vertical plane The
Department recommends positive consideration
Wayne Haney asked if the facia would conceal the rooftop HVACthe petitioner responded in the
affirmative It appears for solidarity lookwould keep the same material from top to bottom either
