TO REZONE PROPERTY
COMMONLY KNOWN AS
THE LUMBERYARD MALL
Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the City of Carmel and Clay Township, Hamilton County, Indiana, that the
proper legal officers of the City of Carmel will meet at their regular meeting Elace, Council Chambers, Carmel City
Hall, One Civic Square, Carmel, IN 46032, at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, the 18 day of March, 2002, to consider the
rezone application (Carmel/Clay Plan Commission Docket No.2-02 Z) of the City of Carmel Department of
Community Services to rezone land from I-l/lndustrial to C-2/0Id Town District. The property is located generally at
the southeast comer of First Street Southwest and Second A venue Southwest (commonly known as the Lumberyard
Mall) within the City of Carmel, Hamilton County, Indiana.
Taxpayers appearing at the meeting shall have the right to be heard.

Dear Carmel Property Owner,
The Carmel/Clay Plan Commission will conduct a public hearing to consider a proposed Zone
Map Amendment at their regular meeting on February 19, 2002 at 7:00 PM in the Chambers of
the Common Council (2nd Floor), Carmel City Hall, One Civic Square, Carmel, Indiana 46032.
Your property has been identified as either being within, adjacent to, or near the area being
rezoned, pursuant to the Plan Commission Rules of Procedure.
This petition involves the rezoning of the property located at 141 I" Street SW, and commonly
known as the Lumberyard Mall, from l-l/1ndustrial to C-2/0Id Town. The new zoning
classification would allow for the redevelopment of the property in accordance with the C-2/0Id
Town design standards.
Enclosed with this letter is the official legal notice for the petition and a map indicating the specific
property to be rezoned. The file for this petition (Docket Number 2-02 Z) can be viewed in the
Department of Community Services, Carmel City Hall (3n1 Floor).

Lumber Yard Rezone
Hi Dawn,
Last night at the Redevelopment Commission confirmed that DOCS is to move forward quickly to rezone the
lumber yard mall to C-2. That would mean making notice by next Friday to make the Feb. public hearing. I
called Jim Thomas from Amli to get any info they had available and I would like to fax it to Transfer &
Mapping even today or early tomorrow!
In case I do not get the chance to do that today, who is the person/number you have been faxing the property
ownership requests to? Also, if! get everything ready could we work on this next week!
I am very sorry for springing this stuff on you so late. I really feel like I am getting a better handle on upcoming
projects so hopefully we can avoid this in the future!
