Subject:Follow up to Andrews PUD Discussion at 1/2/24 Residential Committee
Alexia,
Confirming our brief discussion after the Residential Committee meeting last night, I request that the
developer expand their commitment of landscaping on 'open space' of the development to include
treatment of the small open space on the southwest corner of the development and that this be
added to the PUD Ordinance being presented for endorsement at the upcoming Plan Commission
meeting on January 16, 2024..
As you review the current site plan, the line of sight from Gray Oaks Court (from the south to the north),
in the future will terminate with the side view of the house on the southwest corner of the Andrews
PUD. The enhanced 30 foot section of landscaping/native vegetation along the southern border of the
development has a gap for the proposed through street and thus does not presently extend far enough to
the east to impact this line of sight. We request that either this band of enhanced vegetation be
continued along the bend of the new through street in the Andrews PUD, OR that the developer be
required to provide a minimum of 2-3 native trees to impact this view.
I should note that presently the line of sight from Gray Oaks Court includes a few of the tallest trees in
the area, that will need to be destroyed in order for the access to the Andrews PUD to be built as
proposed. This makes this point particularly pertinent to our neighborhood. I apologize for not noting
this issue sooner, but it became apparent at last night's meeting that the time is now for this topic to be
addressed within the PUD Ordinance.
Respectively,
Jayne Gates
Gray Oaks Resident
Bric/Joe - would you please add this letter to the docket documentation.
