Re: BZA Docket No. PZ -2023-00300 V: Carlino Residence, Lot Cover Variance.
Dear Mr. Udell:
At the meeting held on Monday, January 22, 2024, the Carmel Board of Zoning Appeals Hearing Officer took the
following action regarding the Special Use (SU) and Development Standards Variance (V) requests filed by you for
the property located at 690 Pro Med Lane:
APPROVED with CONDITIONS: Higher Ground Daycare – Special Use and Development Standards
Variance approvals for:
• PZ-2023-00292 SU: Special Use for Day Care use in B6 zone granted,
• PZ-2023-00297 V: 40 parking spaces required, 33 granted.
CONDITIONS:
• The Petitioner agrees to widen the driveway at the cul-de-sac,
• The Property Owner agrees to donate the portion of the wooded property within the flood zone to the
Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation Dept., and
• The Petitioner addresses all remaining TAC review comments in ProjectDox.
Please be advised that per Article 9.15 of the Unified Development Ordinance, the aforementioned Development
Standards Variance approval is valid for three (3) years. By that time, either continuous construction of the
improvements must be underway, or a written request for a one-time, six-month extension of the approval must
have been received and approval granted by this Department. The expiration date of the approval is Jan. 22, 2027.
Please include a copy of this letter with any permit application.
