HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter #02 Nancy Cheesman From:Nancy Cheesman To:Butler, Bric Subject:Plan Commission communication Date:Saturday, January 13, 2024 10:55:42 AM Please submit this to the Plan Commission in regards to their upcoming discussion about the Jackson's Grant Village PUD Rezone/Amendment: Dear Plan Commission, I was strongly opposed to the Jackson's Grant Village PUD when it was originally approved several years ago because I am a Jackson's Grant resident and did NOT wish for retail/commercial spaces to be in my neighborhood (which now they will be because JG Village is directly accessible from Jackson's Grant via Otto Lane). Now I see that even MORE retail/commercial is being planned there with the proposal of a LARGE Day Care Center and 60 additional parking spaces. Please DENY this plan. Ask the developer (Republic): 1.) What is the estimated Sq. Ft. of the planned Day Care building and planned usage days / hours. 160 students seems LARGE! 2.) Please specify the total number of commercial buildings to be added. The Day Care facility is one of the commercial buildings planned, but is there an additional commercial building planned? If so, please provide more details regarding the total Sq. Ft. and the planned usage and hours of operation for the 2nd commercial building. 3.) There are 60 parking spaces planned to be added. Why? There are only 3 additional townhomes planned so why are so many parking spaces needed? My final point is as a member of the current Board of Directors of Jackson's Grant HOA. I am aware from our HOA meetings in Jackson's Grant that Republic did NOT complete some of the Bioswales in our neighborhood as they had promised the City of Carmel when our neighborhood was approved by the City Council years ago. Please do NOT let them promise you again that certain conditions will be met because their promise held ZERO weight when it came to completing their plans in Jackson's Grant. Thank you, Nancy Cheesman Jackson's Grant
