HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter #09 Lauren & Alex Serafin Butler, Bric From:Serafin, Lauren A <lparent1@IUHealth.org> Sent:Thursday, January 25, 2024 8:33 AM To:Butler, Bric; green@carmel.in.gov Subject:JG Village Follow Up Flag:Follow up Flag Status:Flagged Hi Bric and Tony, My husband and I own a home in Jackson’s Grant. We are fortunately on the other side of the neighborhood from JG Village as we have concerns about the impacts of this new community on ours. My husband and I are both in medicine, working at Riley to care for surgical pa?ents. We have 2 younger children and one on the way, due in May. I present this informa?on to you because while some of our board members may try to restrict children’s ac?vi?es for personal reasons, we are 100% suppor?ve of this younger popula?on. Which is exactly why we are NOT in favor of the daycare. The traffic through our neighborhood, at the roundabout, and the spillover we will inevitably encounter from an addi?onal 160 daycare kids plus workers will be detrimental to all of our JG residents and especially our kids. When spring mill or 116th is blocked off, JG is used as a thoroughfare. Watching people who don’t live here speed through the neighborhood as my toddler walks to our park is just terrifying. When my husband is on call and leaves our home trying to get to riley in a ?mely manner only to encounter traffic before he ever hits meridian is the exact opposite reason that we purchased here. We love our kids. We will need childcare for this baby due in May. However, I s?ll don’t want a daycare in my neighborhood. Thank you, Lauren & Alex Serafin 1
