Hello, Mr. Butler
Thanks for your continued public service to the City of Carmel.
th
My wife and I live in Jackson’s Grant, and understand that there is a proposal develop a parcel in JG Village on 116
Street for a daycare school. I’m writing to express our opposition to that proposal due to traffic and safety
th
concerns. That parcel is right off of the Spring Mill/116 Street, a high traffic area. For the proposed daycare, there
th
would be no left turn egress to go east or north, so drivers would likely cut quickly off of 116 into the JG Village
development and then into Jackson’s Grant to then exit north or south on Spring Mill. This would add increased traffic
volume at peak hours, and into a residential neighborhood not designed as a thruway.
I’m supportive, of course, of quality daycare schools, but they should not be jammed in – as an afterthought – in a parcel
not designed for such traffic volume.
Thanks for listening.
John
