February 16, 2024 MedVet Carmel 9650 Mayflower Park Drive Carmel, IN 46032 Statement of Support Variance request Project: MedVet Carmel – Animal Hospital – Renovation and Addition To whom it may concern: The existing continuing expanding wetland swale on the west side of the property creates a hardship to construct the multi-use path due to high water table in that area. This will create a maintenance problem in the future and would likely end the multi-use path at the property. Additionally, we have concerns that with the new parking being added to the site that the relationship of a multi-use path along the perimeter streets to the parking could become an issue with patients’ pets. Studies have shown that animals with fear, anxiety, and stressed are harder to assess, diagnose and treat. Creating a fear, anxiety and stress-free environment from the parking lot to the exam and procedure rooms can make all the difference for successful hospital visit.
