CARMEL/CLAY PLAN COMMISSION
SPECIAL STUDIES COMMITTEE
DEPARTMENT REPORT
December 3, 2002
9. Docket No. 172-02 ADLS Amend; Tom O'Brien Revised Sign Package
Petitioner seeks amended Architectural Design, Lighting, Landscaping & Signage approval to
amend the approved wall signage. The site is located at 4630 East 96th Street. The site is zoned
B-3 Business.
Filed by Mark T. Monroe of Drewry Simmons Pitts & Vomehm for Tom O'Brien Chrysler/Jeep.
The applicant is requesting ADLS Amendment approval of a new wall sign package.
The Committee may recall that the applicant request an amendment in October and was approved
on October 15th by the Commission. Those sighs were not installed and the applicant desires to
seek approval for additional changes.
Please refer to the information packet for elevations and details. The changes include modifying
all three signs on the south elevation of the building.
In addition the applicant seeks approval of an identifying element at the "Service" entrance. This
identification is less that three square feet in area and is not considered a sign. However, it does
require ADLS Amend approval by the Committee.
The location and number of signs were previously approved by the BZA at the time the Special
Use was granted for the construction of the facility.
The Department recommends that the Special Studies Committee approve the request after
all comments and concerns are addressed.
Note: The item only requires approval by the Special Studies Committee.
