Dear Mr. Cradler:
At the meeting held February 18, 2003 the Carmel Clay Plan Commission took the following action regarding the Plat
Vacation request for a portion of the Carmelwood Subdivision including parcels fronting on Audubon Drive and Sylvan
Lane.
APPROVED: Docket No. 165-02 PV to approve request to vacate. The Plan Commission voted thirteen (13) in favor
zero (0) opposed thereby granting the petition with the following conditions:
1. The existing public right-of-way will be submitted to the Carmel City Council for vacation approval, and public
right-of-way, public street, and emergency access easement will be dedicated to the Board of Public Works to
reconnect Sylvan Lane to Audubon Drive.
2. It is in the public's interest to vacate the requested parcel for expansion of the public school professional
landscape buffer space, and the elimination of traffic concerns in the adjacent neighborhood.
3. The Carmel Clay School Corporation will purchase the residential property a t 120 Sylvan Lane and retain the
existing house on the property as a residential property. The house will remain to provide an additional buffer
between the school property and the remaining private property on the south side of Sylvan Lane.
In order to assist the Department's review, please attach a copy of this letter when making application for permits
regarding the improvements contained within this approval.
