HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter #63 Jeff & Chelsea Scofield Butler, Bric From:Jeff Scofield <jscofiel68@gmail.com> Sent:Monday, April 8, 2024 12:51 PM To:Butler, Bric; Aasen, Adam P; Joshi, Anita; Worrell, Jeff; Snyder, Matt; Taylor, Rich; Locke, Ryan A; Minnaar, Shannon; Ayers, Teresa; Green, Anthony Subject:JG Village - Daycare Follow Up Flag:Follow up Flag Status:Flagged Hello, My family is a resident of Jackson Grant - specifically our house sits on the southwest corner of Jackson Grant Blvd and Otto Ln. We are concerned about the increase in traffic on Otto Ln driven by the inclusion of a day care in JG Village. I am asking for clarification on access points for the daycare. On page 29 of the Packet for PC 01-16-24 found here:  PZ-2023-00227 PUD Amend: Jackson's Grant Village - Day Care  Packet for PC 01-16-24, the only access point listed is via 116th st. However elsewhere in the packet maps and in the accompanying traffic study, it appears access is via Village Creek Dr, which in turn is accessible via 116th, Springmill and the (to date) strictly residential Otto Ln. In reading through the Packet and traffic study, one thing I have not seen is an evaluation on how traffic and residents on Otto Ln will be impacted. With two children under 5, we recognize the need for good and convenient childcare. I also know standard operating procedure for daycares is to charge parents extra for time they are late after the pick up time. Us parents are incentivized to get there on time and these fees encourage both speeding and creative traffic patterns to get to the daycare. If this daycare is accessible via residential streets like Otto Ln, I think it is logical to assume customers will use Otto Ln as a path to the daycare. If this daycare is approved, we ask that it not be accessible via Otto Ln and only directly through either Springmill or 116th. Sincerely Jeff and Chelsea Scofield 511 Jackson Grant Blvd 1
