Dear Mr. Butler,
My wife and I as residents and homeowners in Jackson's Grant subdivision would like to express our
opposition to re-zoning the JV development to allow a large Day Care center to be constructed near the
new residential properties. The area bounded by 116th Street, Spring Mill Road, and Clay Center Road is
residential, not primarily for commercial use. The limited amount of commercial entities that comprised
the JV development is in keeping with the community expectations for the land. A large day care center
with parking for 160 cars will add traffic and chaos to our neighborhood. Re-zoning or changing the
terms of the development agreement betrays the existing property owners and favors only the
developers. There is ample siting opportunities for new or expanded day care centers to the East of
US31 along 116th street or within the existing commercial properties bounded by Illinois Street, 116th
Street and Spring Mill Road and 111th Street. Our votes for election of Mr. Green, our Council
representative, were given in keeping with his vows to oppose these large scale additional developments
within our city and especially his district. Our culture in Carmel is systematically being disrupted by
wholesale real estate development that we worry is undermining the vision for our city as a quiet,
cultured place to live.
Please respect our wishes as homeowners rather than the big money developers who seem to care little
for maintenance of our culture.
Sincerely yours,
Milton and Susan Pressler
