HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter #70 Sam Nichol Butler, Bric From:sam nichol <sbnichol1987@gmail.com> Sent:Wednesday, April 10, 2024 4:59 PM To:Butler, Bric Cc:Aasen, Adam P; Joshi, Anita; Worrell, Jeff; Snyder, Matt; Taylor, Rich; Locke, Ryan A; Minnaar, Shannon; Ayers, Teresa; Green, Anthony Subject:JG Village Daycare Follow Up Flag:Follow up Flag Status:Flagged Bric and Carmel City Councilors, I am writing to express my concerns with the possibility of a daycare being built in JG Village. I currently live in Jackson's Grant. I lived in the Village of West Clay for 20 years, so I am not against mixing residential with commercial amenities. In fact, that was one of the reasons my family built in the VWC in 2001. My main concern with placing a daycare in JG Village is how traffic will flow. I live on Otto Lane, and with limited access to northbound Springmill, Otto may become a bypass to get to Springmill north via the main Jackson's Grant Springmill entrance. Increased traffic would diminish the enjoyment we have experienced living in Jackson's Grant and could potentially negatively impact property values. The difference with the VWC is that that community was originally planned and designed with mixing residential and commercial in mind. The developers visited several communities including Sea Side and The Villages and spent significant time designing the development. Traffic flowed well through the WVC as the commercial footprint grew to where it is today. In contrast, the limited access to Springmill from JG Village will push traffic through Jackson's Grant. This is very undesirable to JG residents. Thank you for taking a minute to read my concerns. -- Sam Nichol 12064 Sigillary Way (house faces Otto Lane) Carmel, IN 46032 317-499-1550 sbnichol1987@gmail.com 1
