HomeMy WebLinkAboutPacket for HO 04-22-24Board of Zoning Appeals Informaon Packet Introducon/Statement of Variance/Statement of Support: This request is for a variance in replacing an exisng fence which is considerably deteriorated and aged. The specific variance is for a poron (60’ of the back edge of the privacy fence between two homes in close proximity to each other) to be 8 feet instead of 6 feet. The fence on the other property line is chain link 5 feet tall. The adjacent home owners are in full support of this variance request, are excited for the extra privacy, and have signed a leter atesng to that. There is no HOA involved. 837 Bridle Court has a raised concrete pao and has a backyard that slopes down to the rear end of the backyard. The rear adjacent property’s raised wooden pao, outdoor cooking staon, backyard, outbuilding, glass screen door that reveals their kitchen, and social area are all perfectly visible with a 6’ fence. An 8’ high fence along the rear end of the property line would ensure that both 837 Bridle Court and adjacent property have adequate privacy. The fence will be a tradional cedar framed with a top capping. The side secon of the fence will be the normal 6’, with a short transion piece of 7’ that will allow for an aesthecally pleasing look and symmetry, to balance the rear fence with the side. Pictures included below. 837 Bridle Court is the property requesng the variance. 840 Bridle Circle is the rear adjacent property. 840 Bridle Circle has provided a signed leter stang support for the fence variance. Maps of the area are atached. All posngs, leters, legal noces, and proof of such have been submited. There have been no issues brought to my atenon. And again, NO HOA is involved. Abigail Zisk PZ-2024-00050 V I propose this project will increase public health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the community. for all surrounding houses, including our own. it will add an attractive, new, safe fence that will increase the privacy, curb appeal, and home value of the way our house sits on a hill, the current (and old) 6' fence seperating our house from the neighbors does not provide any sort of privacy at all. The neighbors can see everything we are doing, of the way our house and our neighbors house sit on hills, the height fence limit of 6' as stated in the UDO Section 5.09 (Fence and Wall Standards) does not meet the desired outcome of promoting resonable privacy. and we can see everything the neighbors are doing. It is like no fence is there at all, currently. Neighbors are happy for more privacy!
