Thanks for the rapid response this morning on the subject issue. Per our discussion this morning this is a follow-
up to what was stated. See the attached copy of the Inspection report from the Structural Engineer & the Architect
on the subject building. All items on attached memo has been addressed and approved. REI was not aware that
Carmei required a structural inspection prior to Rough-in. This inspection is not called for on the back of your '
permit, thus the error. The remaining items will be corrected this afternoon, and Gary will call for the reinspection.

FIELD REPORT

We were on site at tt1e above referenced project 3-9-2007 to observe
construction progress to date. At the time of our visit Foundation, Steel and
wood construction was complete. All construction was in conformance with the
co rJtract documents except for the items listed below:
1) The W18x35 beam near line 4 between Band A.1 has inadequate
bearing at line A.1. We recommend installing a new post TS 4x4x114
set inside the 2x6 wall to carry the load.
2) The W18x35 beam south of line 3 between Band A.1 has inadequate
bearing at line A.1. We recommend welding (2) bearing angles
L4x4x3/8 x 2'-0" long (1 each side of flange) to carry the load. These
angles shall also be through bolted to the wall top plates.
3) The center window jamb for the 3 large windows (1 on the first floor
and 2 on the second floor) requires modification. The intent was to
have a 4 stud jamb condition extending past the header to Ihe floor
above (see detail on sheet S2.3). This can be repaired either by
adding (4) 2x6 studs in fronl of Ihe wall (creating a box oul condition)
or install kickers above the window in a boxed oul header.
4) Treated lumber has been used at the base of all walls and on the sleel
ledger angles around the flat roof. Contractor must verify that treated
material used will not cause corrosive damage to structural steel,
anchor bolts and otherfasteners. THIS IS A CRITICAL ISSUE THAT
MUST BE ADDRESED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
