Developed Basin Map III. Soils Map IV. 10 Yr Design Input/Output V. 100 Yr Pond Design Input/Output 1 of 68 NarraƟve The Robbins Family plans to subdivide their 4.58 acre property located at 11400 Wesƞield Boulevard and construct three new single family residenƟal homes. The three new homes will be located east of the exisƟng homes and accessed by a common drive. ExisƟng impervious surfaces include a residence, barn and paved areas. The proposed development is on a site located within Clay Township, Hamilton County, Indiana. The site is generally located in SecƟon 1, Township 17 North, and Range 3 East, Hamilton County Indiana. The site will discharge by overland flow and drain directly into an onsite stormwater management area located in the southeast corner of the property. The project will replace an exisƟng residenƟal driveway culvert. AddiƟonally, separate SSD lines extend to the three building pads and are intended to collect roof drainage and convey the flow directly to the stormwater management area. The stormwater management area acts as both a natural BMP and detenƟon pond. The new stormwater management area will be equipped with an outlet control structure and outlet pipe which will drain to Wesƞield Boulevard right-of-way. Stormwater quality best management pracƟces for this property include grass swales, infiltraƟon trench and a “sumped” outlet control structure. Drainage CalculaƟons The presented calculaƟons include TR-20 based computaƟons using SCS Type II 24 Hour Rainfall DistribuƟons. The design incorporates rainfall depth values for the 10 yr and 100 yr storms as presented in the current City of Carmel Stormwater Technical Standards Table 201-3, page 200- 6. Time of concentraƟon values were esƟmated and follow NRCS TR-55 methodology. Summary Report The Robbins family plans to divide the original 4.58 +/- acre property for the purpose of creaƟng 3 addiƟonal parcels for immediate family members. The majority of the 4.58 acres drain east and south through a driveway culvert located near Wesƞield Boulevard. Offsite area to the north and right-of-way area also drains through the 12” CMP drive culvert. The 4.68 acres draining through the culvert consists of low-density residenƟal properƟes and half the Wesƞield Boulevard Right-of-Way. There are no know drainage issues impacƟng the project site. The City of Carmel general release rates, i.e., 0.1 cfs/acre and 0.3 cfs/acre were used to determine the required pond storage volume for the 10 yr and 100 yr storm events, respecƟvely. The design orifice diameters and invert elevaƟons pertain to the pond volume required to detain the runoff volume resulƟng from the 1.26 acres of disturbed area. The offsite low density drainage areas were also routed through the pond along with the 1.26 acre onsite area. The pond emergency weir outlet was set at the 100 year elevaƟon based on the combined onsite 1.26 acre and 3.01 acre offsite runoff and sized for 1.25x the peak combined inflow to the pond. 2 of 68 The project will involve an area disturbance exceeding one acre therefore in addiƟon to the City of Carmel drainage permit the developer shall submit for approval under the Indiana ConstrucƟon Stormwater General Permit. The project does not require any other State or Federal Stormwater permits. The property remains clear of any FEMA recognized flood hazard areas. The dry detenƟon pond shall include naƟve planƟngs and an infiltraƟon trench which shall funcƟon to remove stormwater contaminants similar to a vegetaƟve swale. Hydraulic/Hydrologic Analysis The onsite runoff was routed to determine the low flow and high flow orifice sizes and elevations. The top of the main outlet control structure was set at the design onsite 100 yr elevation. A compound weir was placed through the pond bank with the invert matching the 100 yr onsite design elevation. The compound weir consists of a concrete curb with a 8.5x6.5 in notch. The onsite and offsite flow was routed through the pond to determine the emergency overflow weir invert elevation of 818.25. The following table summarizes the dry detenƟon pond performance for the 10 yr and 100 yr design storms.
