The building & Sewer Shall be pve sewer pipe meeting ASTM specifications 3034 SDR 35 of latest revision; or vitrified clay pipe, meeting
ASTM specifications C-700 for extra strength clay pipe of latest revision unless other materials arc hereby permitted in writing. The sewer
shall be installed in accordance with ASTM 2321 for pve pipe and the Uniform Plumbing Code for the State of Indiana. All installations shall be .
in strict compliance with pertinent City of Carmel ordinances. Back Water check valves shall be installed in accordance with City Code Section
9-1 22(a), and sections P300S.1 and.2 of the International Rcsidential Code. All building sewers shall be 6" diameter.
All installations shall be "ODcn trench" insoectcd and aoorovcd bv the Carmel Scwer Deoartment before any backfilline is done. Non-
compliance may result in digging up the sewcr installation and/or denial of future sewer permits and/or denial of water connections.
No footing or foundation drains or other sources of ground water or storm water shall be permined to entcr the public sewer.
Sewer insoections should be reauested at (317) 571-2648 one to four hours in advanc'e.

PLEASE NOTE: Installation of building sewer shall be per the specifications of the Clay Township
Regional Waste District (see reverse) and any conditions noted below. All installations shall be inspected by District
personnel during "open trench" phase and before backfilling with sand or stone to six inches above the pipe. NO
footing or foundation drains, or other sources of ground or stormwater, shall be permitted to enter the District's
sanitary sewer system. The District will assume no liability for drains which are below the Qrade leyel of the
nearest downstream manhole nor for laterals which are extended beneath driveways or sidewalks. The I
permit holder (property owner, developer or builder) will be responsible for damages to the District's sewer system.
This includes damages to manholes, castings, manhole lids and the like; caused by construction activity on the
building site which is the subject of this permit.
Inspections by the District are MANDATORY and shall be arranged by contacting the District's office at 844-9200
24 hours in advance. All new construction will be placed on billing six months after connection has been made or
when water is connected, whichever comes first.
(2 (;, District will inspect all sump pump connections 30 to 60 days after the lateral inspection has been
completed.
