The building & Sewer Shall be pve sewer pipe meeting ASTM specifications 3034 SDR 35 of latest revision; or vitrified clay pipe, meeting I
ASTM specifications C-700 for extra strength clay pipe of latest revision unless other materials are hereby permitted in writing. The sewer
shaH be installed in accordance with ASTM 2321 for pve pipe and the Uniform Plumbing Code for the State of Indiana. All installations shall be
in strict compliance with pertinent City of Carmel ordinances. Back Water check valves shall be installed in accordance with City Code Section
9-122(a), and sections P3008.1 and.2 of the International Residential Code. All building sewers shall be 6" diameter.
All installations shall be "aDen trench" insoected and aooroved bv thc Carmel Sewer Deoartment before anv backfillin!:! is done. Non-
compliance may result in digging up the sewer installation and/or denial of future sewer permits and/or denial ofwatcr connections.
No footing or foundation drains or other sources of ground water or storm water shall be pcrmittcd to enter the public sewer.
Sewer insoections should be reauested at (317) 571-2648 one to four hours in advance.
No inspections or installations will be made on Saturday or Sunday or holidays unless arrangements are made at least 24 hours in advance. All
plumbers or contractors installing sewer (or water) lines shall have a plumbers bond posted with the CITY ENGINEER'S OFFICE. [[any street

PLEASE NOTE: Installation of building sewer shall be per the specifications of the Clay Township
Regional Waste District (see reverse) and any conditions noted below. All installations shall be inspected by District
personnel during "open trench" phase and before backfilling with sand or stone to six inches above the pipe. NO
footing or foundation drains, or other sources of ground or stormwater, shall be permitted to enter the District's
sanitary sewer system. The District will assume no Iiabilitv for drains which are below the qrade level of the
nearest downstream manhole nor for laterals which are extended beneath driveways or sidewalks. The
permit holder (property owner, developer or builder) will be responsible for damages to the District's sewer system.
This includes damages to manholes, castings, manhole lids and the like; caused by construction activity on the
building site which is the subject of this permit.
Inspections by the District are MANDATORY and shall be arranged by contacting the District's office at 844-9200
24 hours in advance. All new construction will be placed on billing six months after connection has been made or
when water is connected, whichever comes first.
~ District will inspect all sump pump connections 30 to 60 days after the lateral inspection has been
completed.
