Please find attached two details for the discontinuous sill plate condftlon. These dalalls provide for load
transfer across a break In lha sill plate. Aocordlng to the 2000 Indiana RealdentiaJ Code, SlICtion
R403.1.6 requires Yl" diameter anchor bolll within 12" ot each break In the sill plate section. This
stipulation Is so that shear wall forces and uplift reslstanoe oan be controlled. I hava designed the new
d9lal1s ao lhatthe aill plate connllCtors WlU adequately transfsr bo1l1 shear wall forces and uplift acroas
the sill plaia as required so that the "shear walr section can act together dispersing the loads to the
typical anchor bolla or manufactursd sill connectors. If you have any ques~ons or oomments please feel
frae to contaat me.
