Dear Mr. Butler,
I would like to go on the record as being opposed to the proposed daycare, the Learning Experience, slated for JG Village.
I live in Jackson’s Grant in Stableside. I am very concerned for my neighbors who live on the streets that will be affected
daily by the increased traffic in front of their homes. Even though I am not affected in the same way, I believe the
increased traffic will affect everyone in Jackson’s Grant at the main entrance and Hamlet Dr. due to the inability to make
a le? turn onto SpringMill or 116th. Parents using that facility will find a way around the inconvenience and that will
inconvenience the rest of us.
I a?ended the mee?ng at the JG Clubhouse and felt there were more people who were opposed than in favor. I realize
there were many parents who might choose to use the daycare facility but could not be present that evening. But, I also
believe there are more people who oppose that were unable to a?end. I do hope those people are making their wishes
known, as well, by le?er if not able to a?end these mee?ngs.
It is my opinion that a facility like this should be in an area zoned for commercial proper?es and not a residen?al
neighborhood. Most of my neighbors are echoing the same sen?ments as I am…the majority are not in favor! Though
my heart goes out to parents who need to find daycare, I do not believe this is the best solu?on and certainly not what
most of the residents signed up for.
Finally, there is the issue of how this would affect our property values. The increased traffic will not be a seen as a
posi?ve feature to the majority of those people who would consider purchasing a home in our neighborhood. I believe
this project would ul?mately decrease the value.
I hope the City Council will strongly consider denying the furtherance of this project. It is not in the best interest of our
neighborhood.
Sincerely,
Michelle Smith
