HomeMy WebLinkAbout07030102 Correspondence :"~.~'\\ 4", c.~" ~ .l(.d'" '~.' l' ~, eSlgJn Department of Community Services Carmel City Hall One Civic Square Carmel, IN 46032 RE: Duke Realty, Suite 100, 5 Parkwood March 07, 2007 To Jim Blanchard, Sarah Lallard, or Whom it may concern, The drawings for the above reterenced project being submitted for review by the CarmellClay Department of Community Services, Building & Code Enforcement for purposes of obtaining an Improvement Location Permit per Carmel City Code are exempt from requiring a Construction Design Release (CDR) from the State of Indiana by Indiana General Administrative Rules 675 of Indiana Administrative Code (lAC) 12. Specifically the fOIIO~9 Sections of Chapter 675 lAC 12-6-4 (Exemptions from Design Release Requirements) apply: " Section 4 (b) (2) (B), "Installation of plumbing fixtures, provided that the drainage fixture unit count does not exceed five (5)." The project includes one (1) kitchen sink, depending on usage and reference does not exceed two (2) fixture units. Section 4 (b) (3) (D), "Installation of branch circuits not exceeding the capacity of the electrical distribution system with the existing building." The remodel will include some re-circuiting of electrical power receptacles and lighting all within the capacity of the electrical distribution system of the building and all done by a qualified electrician. Section 4 (b) (4) (B), "Replacement of mechanical appliances and equipment with similar type and rating in the same location." The water heater may be replaced and moved. If so, any plumbing will be done by a qualified plumber in a different location. Diffuser locations may need to be relocated but no additional equipment is required. Section 4 (b) (5) (A), "Painting, papering, and replacement of coverings on walls, ceilings, roofs, or floors and similar finish work, including replacement or re-glazing of glass." The project includes repair of existing walls where old walls have been removed and interior finishes including new paint, wallcovering, vinyl composition tile, and carpet. Section 4 (b) (5) (D), "Installation of one (1) or more non-load bearing partitions not to exceed a total of one hundred (100) lineal feet in length; provided it is not part of a corridor or a partition that is required to be fire-resistive construction." The remodel includes about 20 If of wall of which none belongs to a corridor or is fire-rated. Other sub-sections of Chapter 675 lAC, Section 4 (b) for the remodeling or altering of all Class 1 structures may apply.
