3. Docket No. 127-02 ADLS Amend- 9777 Office Building
Petitioner seeks amended Architectural Design, Lighting, Landscaping & Signage
approval to install a new sign. The site is located at 9777 College Avenue. The site is
zoned B-3 Business.
Filed by Michael C. Cook for College Avenue Partners LLC.
The applicant is requesting ADLS Amendment approval of a new wall sign. Please do not rely on
the information packet for elevations and details. The elevations contained within the booklet
are not accurate. In addition the north elevation has a sign that is not represented on the
elevations.
Subsequent to the :filing of this application it has been revealed that the two signs on the building
have been installed without permits.
The Department recommends that the Special Studies table this item until such time as the
applicant applies for and receives permits for he existing signs and provides accurate
renderings for consideration by the Committee.
Additional Note: The applicant is also requesting a variance to allow the proposed sign. The
side of the building that the proposed sign is located does not have frontage. It faces the
Parkwood East development adjacent to this site along 1-465. In addition the building already
has a sign facing 1-465 on its north elevation. The Department has advised the applicant that no
practical difficulty exists which would warrant this building being permitted signage on the east
elevation. We would request the Special Studies support our position and further request the
committee forward a recommendation to deny the variance to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
