AN OR.DINANCE ESTABLISHWG A BOARD OF METROPOLlTAN
POLI.CE COMMISSIONERS~ ABOLISHlliG THE OFFIOE OF
TOWN MARSHALL" AIND ELECTING AND ESTABLISHING A
POLICEMAN,IS l?ENSION FUND.
WHEREAS, by referendum vote duly submitted to the qualified
voters of the Town of Carmel, Indiana on November 7, 1967 the office
of Town Marshall should be abolished and replaced by a Board of
Metropolitan .police Co=issioners, and
WHEREAS. A Policemants pension fund should be established and
crea;ted to be administered pursuant to ,the lawn d the State of Indiana
governing, such funds,
NOW THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAWED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE TOWN OF CARMEL. that the TOWN OF CARMEL. INDIANA
,does hereafter have and thf,lre is hereby created and established a' BOARD,
OF METROPOr...ITAN POLICE COMMISSIONERS as provided under the Laws
of the State of Indiana and the office of TOWN MARSHALL for 'the TOWN
OF CARMEL. WDIANA be and the same is hereby abolished.
BE IT FURTHER ORDArNED that there is hereby established,
authori!l\ed and created for the TOWN OF CARMEL" INDJ:ANA a POLICEMANuS

PENSION FUND and the same shall be governed and managed by a board
of trustees to be composed of three ~3) members and administerc,d in
accordance with all the laws, rules and regulations of the State Qf Indiana
" pertaining theteto and such Board of Trustees shall have aU of the powers,
duties and responsibilities provided by daw for such trustees pertaining
to a Policeman ts 'Pe1'JS ion Fund
" BE IT FURTHER ORDAWED that this ordinance shall be in full
