Re: Approval of Plans and Specifications for
Proposed Sanitar,y Sewer System and Sewage
Treatment Plant, Carmel
You are hereby notified that the State Health Commissioner of
the State of Indiana has this 7th dB\V of April, 1959, approved plans and
specifications for the proposed sanitar,y sewer ~stem and sewage treat-
ment plant for the Town of Carmel.
The"project will consist of construction of approximately
37,119 feet of sewer pipe ranging in size. from 8 inches to 15 inches
in diameter, and a sewage treatment plant.
The sewage treatment plant is designed for an average flow
of 300,000 gallons per day. The plant will consist of a comminutor,
grit chamber, wet well, primary settling tank, aeration tank, final
settling tank, chlorine contact tank, sludge digestion tank and sludge
drying beds.
The plans and specifications were prepared by Moore and Garns
Engi~eers, Inc., Indianapolis and submitted for approval February 18,
1959.
