Hello Bric-
I along with several carmel residents were made aware of poten?al changes to carmel via the Carmel Housing Task Force.
I wanted to email in with my comments and to signal a vote of No to the rezoning of a large metro area to accommodate
more high rise tenant buildings, AUD on exis?ng single dwelling lots, lot by lot redevelopment to allow duplexes or quad
residences, no build to rent, and/or tearing down large sec?ons for high rise areas.
On top of this the schools are already over capacity. If large city thinking is what this city wants to do then they need to
act like larger ci?es and have mul?ple high schools due to growth and high density popula?on.
knowing they needed to give students the ability to keep a smaller classroom size and smaller school community feel.
As it stands right now Carmel didn’t consider this and now the school is the 2nd largest in all of the U.S. Not to men?on
the middle schools are packed with one being over ? capacity and if you took a census at the high school during
passing periods one would see how packed the hallways truly are.
We would prefer not to have a ver?cal city or be a part of the track and trace of a 15min city being proposed by the 2030
agenda for smaller ci?es.
I am also reques?ng that the mee?ng ?mes for this task force be moved from 7:30am to a more feasible ?me to allow all
residents to be present; those that work 1-3rd shi?s as well as the 8-5 shi? as well as more resident representa?on from
the North to South and East to West.
Kindly
Bobbie
