Notice is hereby given that the Carmel Board
of Zoning Appeals Hearing Officer meeting on
the 22nd day of July, 2024 at 5:15 p.m. in Carmel
City Hall, 2nd Floor Council Chambers Room, 1
Civic Sq., Carmel, IN 46032, will hold a Public
Hearing upon a Development Standards Variance
application to: With the current setback of 5 feet
along the property line (UDO Section 5.02.B.), the
accessory structure would be in close proximity to
the existing pool cover housing, resulting in a less
stable walkway on top of the pool cover housing.
The variance is needed to place the gazebo 2 feet
away from the property line instead of the typical
5 feet. The additional 3 feet would provide a safer
walkway between the gazebo and pool. The use
of our backyard is limited by a 30-foot easement
along the east side. We are trying to utilize the
space available to use as best as we can.
