Dear Mr. Berman:
At the meeting held Monday, July 22nd, 2024, the Carmel Board of Zoning Appeals took the following
action regarding the Special Exception (SE) request filed by you for the property located at 4423 E. 116th
Street:
APPROVED with CONDITIONS: 4423 E. 116th Street Group Home
• PZ-2024-00083 SE: Residential Special Exception for a Group Home granted.
• Condition 1: All remaining Staff review comments to be addressed before issuance of any permits,
• Condition 2: Petitioner complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and restrictive HOA covenants
and limitations as it relates to UDO Section 9.08(E)(3),
• Condition 3: Special Exception approval is only valid for a 5-year time limit.
Please be advised that per Article 5.72.D of the Unified Development Ordinance, along with the
conditions of approval, the aforementioned Special Exception approval is valid for five (5) years. The
expiration date of the approval is July 22, 2029.
