Hi Bric,
With excep?on of a five year s?nt in Texas I have lived in Carmel since 1972. In that ?me I’ve seen Carmel grow from a
small grain stop on the Monon to a modern vibrant city.
My concern for Carmel’s growth today is the number of rental units being built or proposed. I understand that
geographically Carmel is about built out and there’s nowhere le? to go but up but I believe the key to the quality of our
city is ownership. It’s unfortunate that pride of ownership and community just doesn’t extend to the renter popula?on. I
would suggest that some sort of ra?o of rental units to single family homes or condos be considered and then used as a
hard guideline for future residen?al development.
