My name is Elizabeth Caffrey and I live at 14402 Chariots Whisper Drive. I am unable to a?end the public planning mee?ng on August 20th due to my child’s back to school night. I want to voice my opposi?on to this current plan for the Towne and 146th Street Development that was proposed to us at a community mee?ng. I understand that the land will be developed eventually, but I strongly oppose the addi?on of any retail part on that property. It is not needed as there will be so much across the street in Wes?ield. Wes?ield’s commercial will be easier to enter and exit- why would people choose to go to 3-5 places that will not be an easy in or out on the Carmel side? Why do we need to set up businesses to fail? Not to men?on the traffic all of the wes?ield commercial is going to bring. Is there a traffic study done prior to denying or approving this development? As it currently is, it is difficult to turn South out of Saddle Creek off Chariots Whisper during drive to/from work hours. I cannot imagine how much harder it will be with the amount of people being put in that small area (146th and Towne development) as well as all the commercial going in North of there. The addi?on of the density proposed will make exi?ng Saddle Creek to go South very dangerous especially for the young drivers in our neighborhood. Please look at all aspects not just the tax advantages- think of your ci?zens and how the ones who have lived in this area for almost 20 years will be impacted. It makes no sense for this small area on the North Carmel boundary to be the only parcel with commercial on it west of Clay Terrace. What will it truly add? In my opinion absolutely nothing except more noise and light pollu?on. This area needs to remain single family housing as the Comprehensive Plan has (to my knowledge) always had it as. Please do not pass their request as it currently stands. Thank you for your ?me. Concerned resident, Elizabeth Caffrey 1
