I'm writing to share my concerns about the new construction project at Saddle Creek 146/Towne Rd Development. As someone who has lived in Saddle creek for a long time, I care deeply about our area. First, the plan to build 7.5 houses per acre is almost double the density of Ambleside and much higher than the usual 2-3 houses per acre on the south side of 146th Street. This big change feels too crowded and doesn't fit with our community's open and peaceful vibe. Second, there are no commercial buildings between Clay Terrace and County Line Road on the Carmel side. Adding commercial spaces here would bring more traffic, light pollution, and noise, which would disturb the quiet and calm we enjoy. It seems out of step with the careful planning that has made Carmel such a great place to live. Lastly, the idea of cutting down over 40 mature trees to create a super pond is very upsetting. These trees are an important part of our community. Green spaces are crucial for our mental health and well-being. I believe we can develop this area without losing these valuable natural resources. Maybe we could keep the green space and extend the walking path along the tree line, creating a beautiful, connected green space for everyone. I ask that you consider these concerns and look for alternatives that would help us keep the character and quality of life in our neighborhood. Thank you for your understanding and attention.
