Hello Bric and the Planning and Zoning Committee,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns regarding the proposed
development in our neighborhood, which I believe could significantly impact the character and livability
of our community.
First and foremost, the introduction of a high-density development in an area that has historically been
low-density and residential raises significant concerns. The proposed commercial space allocation,
particularly in a neighborhood where such zoning has never been permitted, could disrupt the
established community dynamics and detract from the residential atmosphere that many of us moved
here to enjoy.
Additionally, the increase in traffic on our local roads would likely be substantial. Our current
infrastructure is not designed to handle the kind of traffic that a high-density development would
generate, and this could lead to congestion, longer commute times, and increased safety risks for both
drivers and pedestrians.
Furthermore, I am particularly concerned about the impact of the proposed pond on the surrounding
environment. The construction of this pond would likely lead to the destruction of mature trees, which
are vital to our local ecosystem and provide aesthetic and environmental benefits to our neighborhood. I
worry that this new pond could add to our existing maintenance costs, putting an unfair financial burden
on current homeowners.
While I understand the need for development and growth, I urge the city to carefully consider the long-
term impacts this project may have on our community. I believe that preserving the character and
integrity of our neighborhood should be a priority, and I respectfully request that the city reevaluate the
proposed development with these concerns in mind.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Maggie Lahti
