Engineering Department - 2024 Appropriation #2200 0 44-628.71 2022 Bond Fund; P.O. #109780 Contract Not To Exceed $15,000.00 ADDITIONAL SERVICES AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES THIS AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (“Agreement”) entered into by and between the City of Carmel and VS Engineering, Inc. (the “Professional”), as City Contract dated June 21, 2023 shall amend the terms of the Agreement by adding the additional services to be provided by Professional consistent with the Scope of Work attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit “A”. The terms and conditions of the Agreement shall not otherwise be affected by this Additional Services Amendment and shall remain in full force and effect. (VS) appreciates the continued work with City ofCarmel onthe136Street Trail Connections project. Please find attached our requested amendment tothe contract for theaddition of Geotechnical Evaluation services associated with the installation oftwo prefabricated pedestrian bridges. DESIGN Project Administration Amendment covers the additional Level of Effort associated with the management and review ofa Geotechnical Evaluation services. GEOTECHNICAL EVALUATION Scope VSshall provide thefollowing services associated with theanalysis ofthe existing soils inthe area ofthe proposed bridges: Drill four borings to30ft (one boring near each proposed abutment). thoItappearsthatreadyaccessisavailableneartheproposedabutmentsatthe136St. bridge and thesouth side ofthe Ditch Rd. bridge. oAccess tothe proposed north abutment ofthe Ditch Rd. pedestrian bridge appears tobe restricted duetoheavy timber/vegetation. VSunderstands that the City isamenable to clearing apath approximately 15ftinwidth toprovide our drill crew access. oVSassumesthatpermission toaccessprivateproperty willbeprovided byothers. VSwill need landowner contactinformation sothatwecannotifythemofourintention toaccess theirproperty. Performlaboratory testingtoaidinsoilstrengthandproperty characterization. Prepareabriefdata-stylereportthatsummarizes ourobservations, laboratory testingresults, andboring logs. Helical piledesignisaperformance-baseddesignperformed byspecialty contractor. General subsurface conditions andtestboringlogswillbeprovided inthedatareport fortheproprietary designbythecontractor. GEOTECHNICAL ON-SITE TRAFFIC CONTROL Scope VS shall provide traffic control and temporary lane closure for boring crews ifborings need tobedrilled from theroadway inthe event thatthere are utility orother unforeseen conflicts.
