2. Docket No. 101-02 ADLS Amend- Tharp Convenience Center
Petitioner seeks an amendment of the Architectural Design, ~ighting, Landscaping &
Signage approval to modify the signage for a retail shopping center. The site is located at
808 West Main. The site is zoned OM-SF / Old Meridian-Single Family.

The Committee approved this item at the September 3rd meeting date. The applicant has
requested that we place this item back on the Committee Agenda. They would like to address the
committee and seek additional clarification regarding the approval.
At the meeting held September 3, 2002, the Carmel/Clay Plan Commission Special Studies
Committee took the following action regarding the Architectural Design, Lighting, Landscaping
& Signage Amendment petition filed for property located at 808 West Main Street.
1. APPROVED: Docket No. 101-02a ADLS AMEND, a petition to amend the
Architectural Design, Lighting, Landscaping & Signage. The Plan Commission Special
Studies Committee voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed to approve with the
following Conditions of Approval:
1. Blue stripe on canopy to be carried across on three sides
2. Reflectors to be installed on canopy lighting to direct light downward
3. Brick base to be installed on ground sign
2. APPROVED as Amended: Docket No. 101-02b ADLS AMEND, a petition to amend
the Architectural Design, Lighting, Landscaping & Signage. The Plan Commission
Special Studies Committee voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed to approve with the
following Conditions of Approval:
1. Black, reverse channel letters; Logos may be internally illuminated
2. Maximum sixteen-inch (16") sign height
3. Maximum nine-foot (9') sign width
4. Existing red signs to remain-to be flush mounted (raceways removed)
5. Green band to be removed from McBeth's sign
6. Lighting to be recessed
Note: This item only requires action by the Special Studies Committee.
