I understand that the meeting will take place at Carmel City Hall 1 Civic Square 5: 15 pm, Monday, September 23rd The application ID number is PZ-2024-00142 SE I am glad to know that our HOA board will be submitting our request for a ban on short term rentals to the Zoning Committee. I believe that short-term rentals would damage the value of this wonderful stable neighborhood community. Indeed, part of my motivation to purchase here was its vibrant, 1 healthy neighborhood that always feels safe because neighbors know and watch out for one another. Short term rentals would change that. I have seen it happen in other communities where I have lived. There is no commitment by a short term renter to care for the community or even to get to know their neighbors, much last care about them. There is no long term commitment to care for their home or neighborhood. As an individual owner in Lexington Farms , I wish to lend my support to the Lexington Farm Board's position to ban short-term rentals in this beautiful community. Thank you for considering my testimony. SaraLyn Smith 10877 Lexington Drive Carmel, Indiana 46280 2
