Subject: Public Hearing - Zone of Appeals 10791 Belair Drive ----- Hearing tonight for Special Exception
I am a long term resident of Lexington Farms (29 years) ---
Imagine my surprise to see a Public Hearing Board of Zoning Appeals Special Exceptions Notice posted @
10791 Belair Dr. (Lexington Farms)
I first noticed the sign whilst walking my dog on her daily path on Saturday morning (Sept 20th)
Asking my neighbors when the sign went up and how I could have missed it --- I was informed that prior, it
had been laying against the side of the house, therefore was not visible from the street.
I believe placement of the sign could be construed as intentional --- guessing that the majority, if aware, would
be in opposition to the request
I am FIRMLY against placing a short term rental in the middle of a well-established and quiet neighborhood.
My immediate concern would be that of safety: lack of proper vetting of the renters – other than Name,
Address, Phone # and Credit Card.
Speaking for myself, my home is my largest asset.
My ongoing/long-term concern would be the effect that a short-term rental would do the value of the
surrounding properties and/or neighborhood
I don’t believe any "family" would knowingly buy a home in this market (in Carmel) next/near to a “hotel” .
We are and hope to remain a neighborhood.
Thank you for listening to my concerns.
