ASTM specifications C-700 for extra strength clay pipe of latest revision unless other materials are hereby permitted in writing. The sewer i
shall be installed in accordance with ASTM 2321 for pve pipe and the Unifornl Plumbing Code for the State of Indiana. All installations shat) be
in strict compliance with pertinent City of Carmel ordinances. Back Water check valves shall be installed in accordance with City Code Sectjon
9-122(a), and sections P3008.1 and .2 of the International Residential Code. All building sewers shall be 6" diameter.
All installations shall be "ooen trench" insoected and aooroved bv the Carmel Sewer Deoartment before anY backfilling is done. Non-
compliance may result in digging up the sewer installation and/or denial of future sewer permits andlor denial ofwaler connections.
No footing or foundation drains or other sources of ground water or storm water shall be permitted to enter the public sewer.
Sewer insoections should be reauested at (3] 7) 571.2648 one to four hours in advance.
No inspections or instal1ations will be made on Saturday or Sunday or holidays unless arrangements are made at least 24 hours in advance. All
plumbers or contractors installing sewer (or water) lines shall have a plumbers bond posted with the CITY ENGINEER'S OFFICE. If any st~eet

PLEASE NOTE: Installation of building sewer shall be per the specifications of the Clay Township Regional Waste
District (see reverse) and any condJtions noted below. All installations shall be'inspected by District personnel during
"open trench" phase and before backfilling with stone to twelve inches above the pipe. NO footing m foundation drains,
or other. sources of ground or stormwater, shall be permitted toenter the District's sanitary sewer system. The District
will'assume no. liability for drains which are below the grade level ofthe nearest downstream.manhole nor for. laterals
which are extended beneath driveways or sidewalks. The permit holder (property owner, developer or builder) wilLbe
responsible for damages to the District's sewer system. This includes damages to manholes, castings, manhole lids
and. the like; caused. by construction activity on the building site which is the subject of this permit.
Inspections by the District are .MANDA TORY and shall be arri:mged by contacting the District's .office at 844-9200
24hours in advance. All new construction will be placed on billing six months after connection has been made or when
water is connected. whichever comes first.
