Explanation of why variance/waiver is being requested: UDO Section 5.39.D.12: Regarding the Carmel High School
Stadium Press Box dimensional individual letters, the new letters are 2’ high and is approximately 64 square feet of total
area indicating “CARMEL GREYHOUNDS”. The lettering is non-illuminated, Helvetica font, facing east towards the
stadium field. The lettering is centered in the press box east elevation and is only 2.5% of the total area of this elevation.
The length of the new letters is 31’-10’ or about 42% of the total width of the press box. The height of the new letters is
2’-0” and about 33% of the metal panel between the two rows of the press box windows or about 6% of the total height
of the press box.
