This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Drawings and Specifications as noted below and shall be incorporated into the Contract Drawings. All other provisions of the Drawings and Specifications shall remain unchanged. This Addendum is issued in accordance with the provisions of the Notice to Bidders section of the Project Manual. All Bids shall be based upon work as modified by this Addendum. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum on the Bid Form. Failure to do so may result in disqualification of the Bidder. INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS: The project is classified as a public project and will require that common wage rates be utilized when computing your bid. The Wage Scale will be issued in Addendum NO.1. It should be noted that the award of contracts will be contingent upon financing being obtained by the Owner. Completion date for the project is June 1, 2007 for the North Parkinq Lot and June 30, 2007 for the remainder of the proiect. It is asked that all questions and or requestS be addressed directly to the Architect. Performance bond of 100% shall be included in your bid. THIS PROJECT is Tax Exempt. One (1) copy of Bid Form shall be submitted as described in the specifications on the above date and time. BID FORM See specification section 00300 for the Bid Form and See Specification 00100 for specific bidding requirements. CONTRACT INFO: Bidders should note that specification sections may be assigned to more than one account or Scope or Work. The contractor should refer to all specifications sections to note work assigned to their trades and divisions. Each bid shall include the cost for all miscellaneous clips, anchors, covers, etc., required for the complete installation of the system being bid unless specifically noted under another scope of work. Any questions regarding the system bid shall result in the most expensive system being used. Bids shall be guaranteed for 60 days. All contractors shall reference Section 01030 Alternates. These items are to be included in their bids. SPECIAL NOTES: Project Conditions: The park is open to the public. Care and consideration must be given to the existing conditions of the park during construction. Patrons will be utilizing the park during the time of construction. The contractors shall be responsible for securing the construction areas to maintain safety of patrons and security of equipment. Existing landscaped areas and lawns shall be maintained in their original form. This is to include areas that is damaged within or outside your construction limits. Cutting and Patching: There is cutting and patching required. Each prime contractor is responsible for cutting and patching associated with their work. Patching shall be performed by finish trades experienced in the repairs of each particular finish. The contractor is responsible for cutting and patching, relocation of equipment of fixtures and other such issues required to perform this work. Construction Schedule: A construction schedule is to be developed in cooperation with the successful prime contractor. It is the contractor's responsibility to provide all personnel, equipment, materials, etc. to meet the completion date. The need for additional work shifts required for this project shall be provided in the contractors bid. The Owner will consider no additional cost for overtime hours after receipt of the bids. Additional Items: A site walk-through was made available to familiarize all parties with the extent of the existing conditions. QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS: Q. Is there an area set aside for Construction Staqinq? A. See Addendum No. 1 for exact locations and details. Q. Will a Buildinq Permit be required from the Citv of Carmel? A. Yes. Contact the City of Carmel for proiected fees. Q. Is there a sanitary sewer tap fee? A. Yes, however this is beinq paid directly by the Parks Department. Q. Can the existinq stone base at the North Parkinq Lot be used for the new stone base? A. No. The Site Construction Prime Contractor shall remove the existinq stone base in it's entirety. The existinq stone may be used for the Construction Staqinq area at the Restroom Facility however the two Prime Contractors will need to work out the details. If it is not used then it shall be removed from the premises. Drawings and general provIsions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and other Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.2 SUMMARY A. This Section includes a summary of each contract, including responsibilities for coordination and temporary facilities and controls. B. Project Coordinator: Full-time Project Coordinator shall be experienced in administration and supervision of building construction and site work. 1. Coordination activities of Project Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Provide overall coordination of the Work. b. Coordinate shared access to work spaces. c. Coordinate product selections for compatibility. d. Provide overall coordination of temporary facilities and controls. e. Coordinate. schedule, and approve interruptions of permanent and temporary utilities. including those necessary to make connections for temporary services. f. Coordinate construction and operations of the Work with work performed by each contract. g. Prepare Coordination Drawings to coordinate work by more than one contract. h. Coordinate sequencing and scheduling of the Work. Include the following: 1) Initial Coordination Meeting: At earliest possible date, arrange and conduct a meeting with separate contractors for sequencing and coordinating the Work; negotiate reasonable adjustments to schedules. 2) Prepare a combined Contractor's Construction Schedule for entire Project. Responsibilities of Project Coordinator for temporary facilities and controls include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Provide portable toilets for common-use. B. Site Contract Coordinator: Full-time Site Coordinator shall be experienced in coordination of site construction, including coordination of type of operations required for this Project. 1. Coordination activities of Site Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following: a. Schedule and sequence of site construction activities. b. Coordinate sharing access to work space by Site Contractor. c. Coordinate protection of Site Contractor's work. d. Prepare Site Coordination Drawings. e. Coordinate tests and inspections for site work. f. Coordinate site temporary services and facilities. 1.6 CONTRACTS, GENERAL A. Extent of Contract: Unless the Contract Documents contain a more specific description of the Work, names and terminology on Drawings and in Specification Sections determine which contract includes a specific element of Project. 1. Unless otherwise indicated, the Work described in this Section for each contract shall be complete systems and assemblies, including products, components, accessories, and installation required by the Contract Documents. 2. Local custom and trade-union jurisdictional settlements do not control the scope of the Work of each contract. When a potential jurisdictional dispute or similar interruption of work is first identified or threatened, affected contractors shall negotiate a reasonable settlement to avoid or minimize interruption and delays. 3. Trenches for the Work of each contract shall be provided by each contract for its own Work. 4. Cutting and patching for the Work of each contract shall be provided by each contract for its own Work. 5. Within five working days after preliminary horizontal bar-chart-type construction schedule submittal has been received from Project Coordinator, submit a matching preliminary horizontal bar-chart schedule showing construction operations sequenced and coordinated with overall construction. Substitutions: Each contractor shall cooperate with other contractors involved to coordinate approved substitutions with remainder of the Work. C. Temporary Facilities and Controls: In addition to specific responsibilities for temporary facilities and controls indicated in this Section and in Division 1 Section "Temporary Facilities"; each contractor is responsible for the following: 1. Installation, operation, maintenance, and removal of each temporary facility usually considered as its own normal construction activity, and costs and use charges associated with each facility. 2. Plug-in electric power cords and extension cords, supplementary plug-in task lighting, and special lighting necessary exclusively for its own activities. 3. If deemed necessary, Its own field office, complete with necessary furniture, utilities, and telephone service. ' 4. Its own storage and fabrication sheds. 5. Temporary enclosures for its own construction activities. 6. Special or unusual hoisting requirements for its own construction activities, including hoisting loads in excess of 2 tons (2000 kg), hoisting material or equipment into spaces below grade, and hoisting requirements outside building enclosure. 7. Waste disposal facilities, including collection and legal disposal of its own hazardous, dangerous, unsanitary, or other harmful waste materials. 8. Progress cleaning of its own areas on a daily basis. 9. Secure lockup of its own tools, materials, and equipment. 10. Construction aids and miscellaneous services and facilities necessary exclusively for its own construction activities. D. Temporary Heating, Cooling, and Ventilation: The General Construction Contract is responsible for temporary heating, cooling, and ventilation, including utility-use charges. E. Use Charges: Divide cost of providing and using common-use temporary services and facilities, including use charges, among the General Construction Contract and Site Contract. The Contract Sum of each contract shall include cost of providing and using temporary services and facilities, including use charges. F.
