Thanks, Blake. I would think the smaller the raceway can be, the better. So if 3" works, I would go with
3". This would be less noticeable.

Subject: FW: BSA Sign Permit Application
Hello All,
I figured it would be best to loop everyone in together to iron out the details of this sign since Aliza still needed
some clarification below, and also because this would be the first sign on Adam’s building I believe, and I’m sure
he wants to get it right.
Aliza, in the attached proof we have added the following that you’ve requested:
-Color of the sign faces, returns, and trim(black)
-Color of raceway that best matches building color(MP43227 “Broccoli Cream”)
-The raceways I called out as 3’’ like you mentioned below. When Adam and I originally talked I think we both
thought 4’’ was required by the city for this, but 3’’ or 5’’ is sign industry standard. We can definitely change back to
4’’ if Adam wishes, and custom build the raceways
-Sizing: So the spandrel width between pillars is 184’’ meaning our 59’’ wide sign is well within the 80% spandrel
width requirement. As for the spandrel height, our sign is roughly 30’’ tall and the height between the soldier brick
area is roughly 37’’. I would ask for an allowance to keep the sign designed at the current size since that entire
façade area is painted the same color. In my professional opinion, shrinking the height down to accommodate the
70% height requirement will make this sign far too small on the width to look right in this scenario. From an
aesthetic perspective, I believe what we have shown is the best fit.
