The building & Sewer Shall be pve sewer pipe meeting ASTM specifications 3034 SDR 35 ofJatcst revision; or vitrified clay pipe, meeting I
ASTM specifications C-700 for extra strength clay pipe of latest revision unless other materials are hereby permitted in writing. The sewer
shall be installed in accordance with ASTM 2321 for pve pipe and the Unifonn Plumbing Code for the State of Indiana. All installations shkn be
in strict compliance with pertinent City of Carmel ordinances. Back Water check valves shall be installed in accordance with City Code Section
9-122(a), and sections P3008.1 and.2 ofthc International Residential Code. All building sewers shall be 6" diameter.
All installations shall be "open trench" inspected and approved bv the Carmel Sewer Department before anv backfilling: is done. Non-
compliance may result in digging up the sewer installation and/or denial of future sewer permits and/or denial of water connections.
No footing or foundation drains or other sources of ground water or storm water shall be pemlitted to enter the public scwer.
Sewer inspections should be requested at (3 I 7) 571-2648 one to four hours in advance.
No inspections or installations will be made on Saturday or Sunday or holidays unless arrangements arc made at least 24 hours in advance. All
plumbers or contractors installing sewer (or water) lines shall have a plumbers bond posted with the CITY ENGINEER'S OFFICE. Ifany s~reet

District (see reverse) and any conditions noted below. All installations shall be inspected by District personnel during
"open trench" phase-and before backfilling with stone to tw'elve,inches above the pipe. NO footing or foundation drains,
or other sources of ground or stormwateri shall be permitted to enter the District's sanitary.,sewer system. The District
will assume no liability for drains which are belowthe.grade level,of.the nearest downstream manhole nor for laterais
wliich a~e extended .beneath driveways or sidewalks. The permit holder (property owner, 'developer or builder) will be
responsible for damages to the District's sewer system, This includes damages to manholes, castings, manhole lids
and the like; caused by construction activity on the building site which is the subject of this permit.
Inspections by the Distr[ct are MANDATORY and shall be arranged by contacting the Distrid's office at 844-9200
24 hours in ,advance. All new construction wil1.be placed on billing six months after connection has,been made orwhen
water is connected, whichever comes first.
