Subject:Opposition to Rezoning of Proposed Housing Project
Dear Bric Butler,
I am wri?ng to express my opposi?on to the proposed rezoning for the new housing development in West Carmel. I have
several concerns about how this project would impact the neighborhood:
• Inconsistent with West Carmel Homes: The proposed development does not match the style, scale, or
character of homes in our area.
• Property Value Impact: The project could nega?vely affect property values in the Village of WestClay and
surrounding neighborhoods.
• Greenspace and Common Area: The proposed greenspace and common areas do not align with the quality or
design of those in nearby neighborhoods.
• Excessive Density: The high density of this development is out of place for the area and would change the
suburban character of our community.
• Impact on Property Values: The development’s design could lower nearby property values, par?cularly with
limited setbacks and buffers.
• Inadequate Setbacks and Screening: The project has minimal setbacks and no proper buffer, which could lead
to privacy concerns and disrup?on for exis?ng residents.
• Too Much Lot Coverage: With over 90% lot coverage, the development would feel overcrowded and out of sync
with surrounding homes.
• Inconsistent Architecture: The design of the buildings does not match the tradi?onal architectural style of the
Village and West Carmel neighborhoods.
• Poten?al for Rentals: There is concern that this development could turn into a rental community, which might
lower stability and further affect property values.
For these reasons, I strongly oppose the rezoning request and urge you to reconsider this project. Thank you for your
?me and a?en?on to this ma?er.
Sincerely,
Gina Prine
