Subject:Opposition to Stout Farms Development
Dear Mr Butler,
I am writing to express my concern regarding the proposed Stout Farms development project, which I
believe is inconsistent with the established character and values of our community, particularly the
Village of WestClay where I live with my family.
The density and lot coverage, projected at over 90%, along with limited setbacks and minimal screening,
would significantly impact the area’s open space and visual appeal. Additionally, the architecture and
common areas proposed diverge notably from the aesthetics and standards that define our community,
potentially reducing property values and disrupting the cohesive feel of our neighborhoods. There is also
significant concern among residents that this development could become a rental-dominated area,
further impacting the stability and character of West Carmel.
In short, this proposal does not align with the existing homes, values, or neighborhood consistency that
residents cherish in West Carmel. I urge you to reconsider or advocate for modifications that would
better serve our community’s long-term interests.
Thank you for your attention to our concerns.
Sincerely,
Laura Stumpf
VOWC Resident and Homeowner
