Subject:STOUT DEVELOPMENT
To Bric Butler,
My wife and I were among the residents of the Village of West Clay who intensely respect the
neighborhood and who overwhelmingly rejected the Stout Development.
The Village is loaded with beautiful, valuable homes of outstanding architecture, each characteristic
of that specific neighborhood. And each near lakes, perfect landscaping, sizable lawns, trees, and
safe streets where children ride bikes safely without any concern of parents and neighbors.
The houses proposed by the Development are production built, of much less value, very crowded,
with very restricted lawns and restricted landscaping. These houses are immediately adjacent to
homes in the Village and restricted by adjacent streets. Indeed, a neighbor, leaving the meeting,
characterized the overall design as a large storage unit, and we were forced to agree.
With this large number of packed houses, we can only imagine problems with Carmel Clay Schools.
And serious traffic on 116th Street, Township Line Road (which we already have difficulty accessing
to the South), and Main Street. We are concerned within the Village with crowding of our shops and
amenities, including walking in the woods and walking, biking, and driving in Cox Hall Park.
Thank you for listening.
