Please respond in writing to the preliminary review comments listed at the
bottom of the 10/30 docket no. assignment email, and please do that before
noon on Friday, Nov. 15. For your convenience, they are listed again, below:
a) Please make checks payable to City of Carmel if you are paying via check.
b) Provide a copy of the Official List of Adjacent Property Owners from the
Hamilton County Auditors Office. (Make sure to check Carmel BZA on their
form.) c) *The Current in Carmel only prints on Tuesdays, and their filing
deadline is usually 14 days prior to their printing date. Please submit your
Microsoft Word file of the legal ad to them before Noon, Fri., November 1 so
that it prints on time. Their contact info is 317-489-4444 or
legals@youarecurrent.com. (Please refer to the Handout for a template of
wording to use for the legal ad and the mailings the Notice of Public
Hearing.) d) The mailings/notices to the adjacent property owners should be
done by first class mail with Certificate of Mailing (not Certified Mail). (Please
provide us with the stamped receipts of the certificate of mailings for the file
on or before Noon, Wed., November 20.) e) Please provide the filled out &
notarized Placement of Public Notice Sign Placement Affidavit form (found in
Handout) once the sign is placed. f) Please provide the filled out & notarized
Petitioners Affidavit of Notice of Public Hearing form (found in Handout). g)
Please provide the filled out Notice of the Public Hearing form/template
(found in Handout). h) Please provide proof of notice, such as Publishers
Affidavit from the newspaper, once you receive them. i) Please make sure to
list out your practical difficulties and hardships associated with having to
comply with the zoning ordinance. j) Additional review comments (if any) will
be issued through ProjectDox, our online electronic plan review software.

All of these have been uploaded to ProjectDox, or have
been responded to (see Hardship info in the below box).
We will be sure to provide you with the stamped
receipts of the certificate of mailings by this coming
Wednesday.

also make sure to include the approved Landscape Plan in your BZA Info
Packet.

Please upload photo examples of similar wall signs like what you are
proposing - photos of the signs taken during the day, as well as taken at
night.

The Carmel Bridges Medical Office Building has three
tenants who all prefer exterior signs on both the East
and West facades. Because four (4) signs total are
allowed on on the two facades, we are asking for a
variance. All three tenants are medical in nature and
wayfinding and visibility are important to them,
especially for handicapped and/or elderly patients. For
one of the three tenants to not have these signs, or at
the very least unable to construct a monument sign
close to the right of way, it would be a disadvantage to
the operations for the business. Each of the three
tenants has significant capital invested in the new
building, and for one tenant to not have signs on each
facade will provide disruption in its business practices
when new or relocated patients are trying to locate the
facility. The tenant, Northwest Radiology, is a business
that has been in Carmel for decades are they are
expanding practices in the new building. They would
prefer signage for marketing, wayfinding, and to aid in
its overall service to patients.

If possible, please provide photo examples of similar wall signs like what you are proposing - photos of the
signs taken during the day, as well as taken at night.
Please confirm that the wall sign raceways will be the same color as the brick on the building.
