I am the original homeowner at 10775 Belair Drive (34 years in Lexington Farms), and it is my neighbor just two doors away that is requesting a use variance for Short-Term Rental. I trust that Carmel’s entire Division of Planning and Zoning exercises due diligence and allows short-term rentals because:  Short-term Rentals DO NOT lower the neighborhood's property value,  Short-term Rentals DO NOT cause an increase in crime or reports of public nuisance,  Short-term Rentals BENEFIT the community. With Central Indiana planning to host more major events (e.g. Westfield hosting LIV Golf tournament, etc.) there will be a growing demand for short- term rentals. Also, there will be the benefit of tax revenue from the rental fee (Lodging Tax, Income Tax) as well as revenue from the renters’ spending (Sales Tax), Therefore, I support the approval of the short-term rental petition. Regards, Jan Kasper 1
