HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter #41 Paul Watson Shestak, Joe From:Paul Watson <pgwatson1@gmail.com> Sent:Friday, November 22, 2024 1:09 PM To:Shestak, Joe Subject:Zoning Appeal PZ-2024-00180 SE Follow Up Flag:Follow up Flag Status:Flagged I am commenting on the appeal to a proposal for a zoning variance for the property at 10791 Belair Dr in the Lexington Farms community (application ID PZ-2024-00142 SE). This appeal is to be heard at the Nov. 25 meeting. Lexington Farms is a community of owner resident, single family homes of which I am a home owner. To allow the variance to permit short term (Air B&B type) rentals at this address would be the equivalent of dropping a single unit motel into our residential community. This would be terrible for the Lexington Farms community and a very bad idea for Carmel to start allowing essentially single unit "motels" to appear in residential areas. In summary, allowing short term rentals (single unit motels) embedded in a residential community is a bad idea for Lexington Farms and for any other residential community in Carmel. The original denial for this variance was the correct decision. This appeal should be denied. -- Paul Watson pgwatson1@gmail.com 1
