HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter #153 Thomas Siebert Butler, Bric From:Thomas Siebert <tbsinc@aol.com> Sent:Wednesday, November 20, 2024 12:25 PM To:Butler, Bric; Thomas Siebert Subject:Stout Farm Development - STOP Hi Bric, Thomas Siebert, VOWC resident since 2014. Wanted to voice my sincere, deep and broad opposition to the most recent developer offering to overhaul Stout Farm. I attended the developer's recent presentation at the VOWC and it was a disaster, with the developer being woefully unprepared on many levels. Sad. The VOWC is a very unique and beautiful neighborhood whereby many one-off developers look to build their grossly inadequate 'product' next to our neighborhood, much like a parasite living off a beautiful whale. Their product may appear better, but ONLY because it's literally engulfed on 3 of 4 sides by one of the most beautiful, well designed and well planned neighborhoods in the mid west, thanks to the Carmel Planning Commission, etc. The problem being, the 'product' is a massive cement slab with row homes, horrendously designed and disastrous density and near identical to a mobile park home. Just one BIG cement mobile home park. Carmel Planning Commission has so much to be proud of with their hard work and determination to ensure developers provide like-product near neighborhoods, and NOT the garbage this developer has presented. My hope is the Carmel Planning Commission, etc, kills this project, thus presenting an opportunity for a developer(s) that know how to design and build quality neighborhoods we can all be proud of. We cannot allow this developer to build a mobile home like product next to one of the most beautiful planned and maintained neighborhoods in the mid west. Thank you for considering our family's feedback on Stout Farm development. After all, there are untold exciting product designs for this beautiful property, no reason to settle for bad product. Carmel deserves better. Cheers- Thomas Siebert 12629 Apsley Lane Carmel, IN 46032 tbsinc@aol.com Thomas Siebert Cell: (317) 801-3100 (ET/Eastern Time Zone) Email: tbsinc@aol.com 1
