HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter #156 Scott Atherton Butler, Bric From:S Atherton <scott.atherton333@gmail.com> Sent:Thursday, November 21, 2024 11:31 AM To:Butler, Bric Subject:Stout Farm Opposition Dear Mr. Butler: My wife and I own a town home in The Village of West Clay. It was recently brought to our attention the proposed development of the Stout Farm Property. Without question the current development plan as submitted is not at all consistent with the land use and planning that has made Carmel and in particular the West Clay area such a desirable place to live. The County Officials and developers who guided, approved and built the existing communities did an excellent job of maintaining consistency and did not allow opportunistic “bottom feeder” developer(s) to come in with down-scale, high density products that “leach” off of the prestige and cache of the established communities. To be clear, we are not opposed to the development of the Stout Farm property, but only if the homes and overall community plan is consistent with the excellent existing examples that surround the Stout Farm property. Thank you for your consideration. A lot of good decision making has occurred in the past that resulted in the consistent development of a benchmark example of a thriving, upscale, diversified composite of neighborhoods. Please do not approve the current development plan - and send a message to all that maintaining the quality and consistency of Carmel and West Clay is sacrosanct. Sincerely, Scott & Nancy Atherton The Village of West Clay 1
